Jim Cottingham Photography is gaining a reputation as a premiere lifestyle, wedding and commercial photographer in the Philadelphia and surrounding area, New Jersey and New York.  He is sought out by many to capture their family and children portraits, special events, commercial/ product shoots . Jim has worked with clients in the Tri-State area. He has also worked with clients from Washington D.C, to NYC,  including NY Fashion Week.

Jim grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Millersville University with a degree in art, and settled in Lancaster, PA where he lived with his wife and family for 20 years. Shortly after the birth of their seventh child, they moved to New Jersey where they currently reside in their home and studio.

Throughout his life Jim has been involved in art, with his work displayed in shows and galleries. Since 1997 Jim has been teaching high school computer graphics and photography, in both digital and traditional black and white.  With his educational background and his experience in the arts, Jim has been very successful in pursuing his professional photography career. Jim has a keen eye for design and color, which resonate in the aesthetics of his photographs. His friendly and relaxed demeanor promotes enjoyable shoots with dynamic results. Jim enjoys experimenting with lighting and presentation, so he is adept in distinctively artistic compositions, as well as traditional poses.

Accomplished in both Lifestyle and Commercial photography, Jim excels in both studio and location shoots. He is proficient with individuals, groups, events, posed and candid shots. Jim works with a network of talented hair and makeup artists, plus other professional contacts. He will personally collaborate and arrange essential details of your shoot.
